Fatima Palacios

Germany (DE, EN)

Hello! My name is Fatima Palacios and I study product design in Hamburg (6th semester). I'm 23 years old and I'm from Ecuador, I've been living in Germany for 4 years and I think it's great to meet people from all cultures. I like to work with everyday objects and I also like to do projects with recycled materials. I am a person who works freely, creatively and intuitively. I am interested in observing the function of the objects, but also of the materials. For me, the functionality and the aesthetic of products are very important. During my studies I was able to make a pendant lamp out of 109 stucco paper, as well as to develop a mug and a soup plate out of ceramics. I also made an interactive point of sale for the company Heimart. Another project that I made was a chair made of wood called H. I like new projects and am open to challenging tasks. I love learning and trying new things. I like to work both in groups and alone, I am creative and enjoy working. I am also motivated and curious. I enjoy trying out new things and building models.

„Upcycling is an important pillar in establishing a circular economy. In the Global South in particular, it contributes to the preservation of traditional handicrafts, to an increase in the quality of life and creates prospects for young people.“
