My name is Ekila Lemvo-Bainski and I explore the topic “humans and their roots”. I started the fashion label "Mosisa" in 2011. It means roots in Lingala, my mother tongue. I work with fabrics from different african countries such as Congo-Kinshasa, Senegal, Kenya and Ghana - and create high-quality fashion for cosmopolitan women. Deeply rooted my own african history and culture, Mosisa is a platform for dialogue and intercultural communication. In September 2015, I had the chance to show my summer collection at the Frankfurt fashion fair "Borderless". Visitors were impressed with my creativity and my attention to detail. I like to mix elements and symbols of traditional african clothing with bold colors and bold cuts. It is important to me to create a neo-african clothing line that breaks with stereotypes about Africa.

„Upcycling is an important pillar in establishing a circular economy. In the Global South in particular, it contributes to the preservation of traditional handicrafts, to an increase in the quality of life and creates prospects for young people.“
